This rustic journal is made using a beautifully coloured leather hide, and a silver antique skeleton key on a leather tie that wraps around the journal and then tucks into a loop to keep it closed - all your secrets are safe. The leather comes from a company that hand-makes boots, we take their off cuts!

DETAILS:
Each journal is handmade and no two are ever the same. The skeleton keys come from estate sales, auctions, and treasure hunts. Some are from as far away as France, some were even shipwreck salvage - they came to us covered in rust and we have cleaned and treated them! They have a gorgeous antiqued patina. Your order will have one of these keys, a true shipwreck treasure– each order has a different, unique key. Each journal has its own, unique key, and a label inside telling you where your journal's key came from.

Over time the leather will develop a beautiful patina -this piece can last a lifetime if cared for properly with proper leather conditioning.

The journal is made with a bound notebook, which can be replaced when full, meaning you'll have a journal to treasure over and over again.
